Stress with Meta Platforms and the loss of accounts

On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, I found out that my social media accounts on Meta got suspended for "community standards violations." I was totally shocked because I have two-factor authentication set up, so getting hacked seemed unlikely. Not only did they suspend my business accounts on Instagram and Facebook, but Meta also wiped out all my personal accounts. No explanation, just gone—15 years of content vanished. It's really frustrating how much we depend on social media for our small businesses. As photographers, we need these platforms to showcase our work and reach our audience. Without them, we're stuck relying on word-of-mouth, a limited number of clients not on social media, and the constantly changing SEO game on our websites. I can't believe Meta's algorithms and AI bots could cause such a mess for someone's business and livelihood. I depend on social media to connect with potential clients in my community. And now, I can't even start a new Facebook account, plus I've lost 15 years of personal memories. It's just sad. They make it so hard to get any help. We really need some changes in account management and better support on these platforms. AI shouldn't be able to turn someone's life upside down because of an algorithm.
